The workshop entitled Barbie Fights Back continued building upon the issues that affect and constrain girls' lives such as violence, drug addition, body image, and peer pressure. To explore and critically engage with these issues, the girls were asked to write their own scripts and make short stop-motion animation films using Barbie dolls in small groups. Special thanks to an independent filmmaker Rebecca Boyd and graduate student volunteer Cortney Piper who helped with this project.
