During this poetic video performance project, Beyond Bad Girls, six participants viewed and discussed a segment from the Netflix documentary Girls Incarcerated, wrote slam poems using a prompt "I Am Not," and remixed their poetry in small groups. Next, they recorded their own video footage and audio of their poems and edited these videos in iMovie by adding additional layers of video effects and hand-drawn animations. Big thanks to a digital media consultant O.K Keyes and student volunteers Chelsea Casey, Hannah Hockholz, and Elise Heslewood for their help with this workshop.
